My name is Sarah and I decided to create a website which would help the solo traveller - either by supplying them with accommodation that didn't cost them over the odds - or by linking them up with other solo travellers.

All eight people on my first trip came from a variety of places and i was looking to bring all that hassle together by offering one specialist site that PURELY allows postings regarding trips and travelling.

PistePals will offer purely advice and offers targeted towards single/solo skiers.....who either want to go on their own or meet up with other people.  

I will target traffic towards it, so people, especially working professionals, don't have to post on twenty different forums - they can come to just one place and i will do the work for them.

Hopefully it will save people money by filling up empty spaces in groups or offering special discounts and offers to people who want to travel alone but don't want to pay single supplements. I will bring them the information rather than them having to trawl various websites in the vain hope someone will reply to them.

I will also offer chalet owners etc the opportunity to sell weeks that don't charge single supps - where there will be articles and advice on forming groups, specifically which resorts are best for solo travellers

...and finally - I don't believe there is a single site PURELY dedicated to the solo traveller or that has a forum PURELY  dedicated to allowing groups to meet up. It's only ever a small part of a much larger entity - eg neilson, gb, powderoom etc..

My site is VERY niche and VERY targeted towards one part of the tourism industry where I believe I can help people out -

I'm actually doing this because I felt it was a very neglected subject in the travel industry and more needed to be done to help solo travellers.
